Was anyone as embarrassed watching this thing? It made me feel so OLD. Half the time I couldn’t understand what people were saying. I just wanted to shoosh the screaming brats.

Most notable: Jesse McCartney shedding a tear when the Autistic basketball kid got a courage award. Seriously? Crying? Great PR move or headed down Manillow road.

Also, Nick Lachey accepting his ‘award’ (I think they just award whoever is willing to show up, but whatever) and telling everyone “Awkward, much?” Yes. We get it. Your ex-wife is hosting the show with her new boyfriend. It is a little awkward. But what is really awkward is you stating the obvious at the TEEN CHOICE AWARDS. Bitter, much?

And Don’t EVEN get me started on the Federline’s assworthy performance. It made vanilla ice look like eminem.

I really, really want to see this movie. Not so much for Kiki Dunst but rather for what Sofia Coppola does for it. There is a great article on SC in Vanity Fair for all you Francophiles/Coppolaphiles. She is the ultimate cool girl.

Deja Ew: My First Stripclub Visit

Saturday night followed a long, unsuccessful visit to the Del Mar racetrack. I was always told a bet on a grey horse was a sure thing. Apparently, not so much. After a small loss, we moved on to the free Billy Idol show. It was not a nice day for a white wedding.

Later that night The BF invited some friends down to go out. I hate entertaining out-of-towners. They always expect to be in a crowded club with no cover, walking or hassles. In San Diego, it’s not that classy. To make a long story short, The BF’s ‘friends’ decided at 2:00 am that a strip club would still be serving booze (even though the entire state of California is dry from 2:00-6:00 am) so off we went to Déjà Vu, Midway City. What a classy little place. Obviously, no alcohol, but yet my first strip club experience was very educational. And so I present:

5 Things I never knew about strippers:

They have cellulite. A lot.
Tattoos are required*
Must like neon and/or animal print lyrca
Must not like flat shoes
Must have ratty, chewed on hair extensions**

*plus if on a stretch-mark prone area including but not limited to torso, thighs, buttocks, breasts.
** extra points for visible weave

In the end, they make good money according to ‘Chastity’ (the irony was lost on her).
She makes anywhere from $200 to $500 a night, so who am I to talk shit? I make that in a week. Maybe they’re smarter than they appear. I still think they could loose the lycra. It is so unflattering.

Eggs Benedict.

If I were on Death Row, I would gorge myself on a last meal of Eggs Benedict and Coffee from the Chateau Marmont. It's that good.

But the sound quality at the Wiltern totally sucked.
They played the whole album, out of order, plus Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy', after a 30 minute ovation for an encore. So, in summation, a long drawn out show that would have been great had it been shorter and better sounding.
